Mmmm morning goodness! This delicious smoothie came into being after I soaked some raw almonds overnight in water.
This gets the enzymes going to make these nuts more nutritious. I feel it also softens and sweetens them too.
Nutty Almond Super Smoothie
6-8 oz of Coconut water
2 handfuls of soaked raw almonds
small handful parsley
small handful pea shoots
small handful dandelion greens
3 Romain lettuce leaves
2 tbs chia
2 tbs flax powder
2 tbs hemp seeds
1 tbs sesame seeds
2 ripe bananas (1/2 peel)
Frozen strawberries
Soaking your raw almonds overnight is key. Change out your water every 12 hours.
Keep bowl in the refrigerator. Drain off water before use. Place the coconut water
and the soaked almonds into your blender. Then mix till liquid.
Start to tear up your greens and add to the nut mixture.
Continue to add your healthy dose of pea shoots, dandelion greens, parsley and Romain leaves to the blender.
Then add in your superfoods! Chia, flax powder, hemp, and sesame seeds. Next up is your ripe bananas. If the banana is organic you can add 1/2 or one whole peel as well, just for added nutrients and fiber. You may use frozen bananas. Mine were not, so I added a few frozen strawberries. Start blending and be happy to start your day so yummy!!!
Oh yes, it's like dessert for breakfast! Only it's full of great nutrition to keep you going strong for hours!
Can you tell I've become nutty for smoothies lately? Hubby is certainly excited to get his glassful every day!
Don't forget you can throw in some granola for texture too. Enjoy!
