I've been accumulating more palm wallpaper images since my last one in 2009 but never got around to posting them. Once I saw the cover of the Fall Preview Bergdorf Goodman catalog today, I figured this was a perfect time to post them.
Bergdorf Goodman shot the two images above at the Greenbrier, the famous Dorothy Draper designed resort in White Sulfar Springs, West Virginia. Carleton Varney is now the keeper of the flame and you can read his interview on the resort here.
The famous wallpaper is actually banana leaves and originated at the famous Beverly Hills Hotel. Terry Richardson photographed model Kate Upton and actor Aziz Ansari in front of it for Harper's Bazaar.
An outtake from the shoot.
Designer Charlotte Dellal has also been inspired by the famous palm pattern. She used it for these Wire Heel Sandals for her line Charlotte Olympia.
I'm dying for this Charlotte Olympia Pandora Perspex Box Clutch with palm print insert. Most of her clear clutches come with three interchangeable little pouches and this one also has leopard and stripes. Not sure what it would fit besides my lipstick but I still want one!
These Charlotte Olympia Isla Sandals are also pretty amazing. If they look too vertiginous for you, I also saw a pair of Beverly flats with palm leaves too.
The Milly store windows on Madison Avenue also got into the palm party. Photo by moi.
Designer Steven Sclaroff used the famous Martinique wallpaper in the foyer of Beth Blake's Tribeca apartment as seen in the April 2012 issue of House Beautiful.
It's also seen in the famous restaurant Indochine where I spent my birthday this year.
Another home with the wallpaper was also featured in House Beautiful.
Nicky Hilton's breakfast room from InStyle magazine.
The Fountain Coffee Room at the Beverly Hills Hotel is where the wallpaper originated. You can by it online here or from Hinson.
