New Year's Resolution and Sew Weekly Challenge "You Can Do It"

My New Year's Resolution for 2011: I will not buy any manufactured clothing from a store or website.  If I want a new piece of clothing, it will have to be refashioned from the incredible pile of hand-me-downs or clothing swap items I have acquired.  I am also allowed to make clothing if I wish and time permits.

There is only one exception to this resolution: running clothes.  I am not going to attempt to make a pair of moisture wicking running shorts.

With that said, I am doing my own version of the Sew Weekly Challenge "You Can Do It!"  My boyfriend's flannel shirt has been lounging in my pile of things to be refashioned for far too long.  I whipped it out and followed this tutorial for a lumberjack shirt... and voila!

And an action shot...dancing to Robbie Williams' "Rock DJ"...because it's awesome.  And yes, that is a K9 dog from Dr. Who at my feet.  Would you like a jelly baby?

While I don't think I could make a garment from scratch each week, I'd like to refashion something each week, especially if I am avoiding stores and online shopping.  So that is my goal and my resolution, and I am going to do my absolute best to stick to it this year!
