After all the hustle and bustle of early December, we really enjoyed the days leading up to New Year's. It was the beginning of our retreat time. Whether it was staying in jammies until noon (or later), putting on the second and third pots of coffee, finishing that great book, sitting beside the fire, or bundling up and going for walks, we revelled in this new found freedom to slow down the pace and enjoy the quiet moments.
New Year's Eve was a time to remember highlights of 2010 which included a spring adventure to Santa Fe in March to learn new metalsmithing techniques, planning little get-aways to Toronto to hear great musicians like Bruce Cockburn, Swell Season, Carole King and James Taylor, camping and music festivals, spending time at the cottage in the summer, an August visit from our dear friend Ruth from California, a road trip to Vermont in September to learn from Celie Fago and reconnect with good friends Barb and Holly, and the opportunity for both of us to create full-time for STUDiO 28 this fall.
We have spent the last few days, dreaming and making plans for some new experiences and adventures in 2011 and are excited about sharing these with you as the year unfolds. We continue to be grateful for family and friends and for our extended community who have supported us along our creative journey.
A Walk in Waterloo Park
We have posted some new workshops for the winter months and hope that some of you can join us by the fire in the studio and share in our creative adventures. We wish all of you much joy and happiness in 2011.
Here's to a peaceful and happy 2011...
